Garden railway enthusiasts have been using our doll house products for a number of years but our new Victorian style doors and windows are just the job for garden railway buildings. We've introduced a range of straightforward and inexpensive building plans and kits you can use to enhance your railway. The idea is to provide you with a basic building that you can customise to your own specification so that no two buildings need ever look exactly the same! The five original buildings are available as "plan packs" or kits, while the remainder of our buildings are available only as kits. "Plan packs" include a comprehensive plan, all the doors and windows needed for the building, and a sheet of glazing for the windows. For those who don't have the facilities or the inclination to cut out material and would prefer to have the pieces available ready-cut, we offer the buildings as easy-to-assemble kits using "green" mdf. "Green" mdf is a special moisture proof material that is quite capable of withstanding the British climate and our test pieces have been outside for over three years without any deterioration of the material. Just like any building, they do need a bit of maintenance occasionally. The plans are straightforward and can be adapted easily to suit your needs. As with our popular dollhouse plans, they have been tried out in practice a number of times to make sure we have the details right. The windows are available with 4, 6 or 12 panes so you can easily modify the appearance of your building. Each window has a removable rear insert to hold in a piece of glazing, and the front glazing bars are also removable to allow the frame to be painted separately.
